Yeh dosti hum nahi todenge, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu says to Narendra Modi on Friendship Day

On the eve of international friendship day, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and the special wish made by Israeli PM had a Bollywood twist in it.

Isralel Prime Minister took it on Twitter on behalf of the Israeli Embassy in India and posted a small clip that featured the two world leaders.

The post had lyrics from the famous Bollywood movie Sholay, “Ye dosti hum nahi todenge.”

In the post, the tweet read, “Happy Friendship Day 2019 India! May our ever-strengthening friendship and growing partnership touch greater heights. Yeh dosti hum nahi chodengey (We will never break this friendship)”.

The Indian President, Narendra Modi was quick to respond to the post and he really hailed the strong friendship bond between the two countries and also mentioned Benjamin Netanyahu as a good friend. Indian PM Modi also wished all the citizens of Israel and said that their friendship bond is strong and everlasting.

He also wished that the bond between the two countries should grow and prosper in the coming days.


Netanyahu will be visiting India on September 9 to visit PM Narendra Modi. Benjamin Netanyahu last visited India in 2018 and Modi had also visited Israel in 2017, thereby becoming the first Indian Prime Minister for visit the Jewish state.


Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu was also among the first world leaders to congratulate Modi over his victory in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed his hopes of strengthening the friendship and bilateral ties with India.

An election advertisement banner that was in support of Netanyahu, featuring PM Modi was seen in Tel Aviv. The advertisements were seen in Benjamin Netanyahu's Likudi party headquarters that is located in Tel Aviv. Israel will also be undergoing elections on September 17 and is really trying his best to showcase his close chemistry with the top world leaders.
