World Record attempt; Chennai people tried dyeing their hair simultaneously

In today’s world, people are willing to do just about anything to break records and hence, it is very obvious to say - ‘welcome to the world of bizarre world records’. And this time it was a 'dye hard' record that literally no one asked for.

An attempt such as this seems unnecessary given the state of water crisis in the city. Still, it was attempted by over a thousand number of people in Chembarambakkam area in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu state.

At the area, people assembled to try and enter the Guinness World Records for “most people self-dyeing their hair simultaneously”.

This event of dyeing hair christened “VIP Youth India Movement” saw scores of grey-haired men armed with water bottles, dye and towels all set for the great dyeing session.

As per the local reports, people from across the whole Tamil Nadu come together for this weird event of hair dyeing. Ostensibly, a person named Sivakumar had travelled with 45 other people from Ramanathapuram just to attend this event.

The report quoted him as saying - “When I came to know that they were trying to create an entry for the Guinness Book of World Records, I set my mind to be a part of it”.

According some other report, actress Karishma Kapoor was a host at the event and she said - “Vanakkam, Chennai," and greeted everyone on Independence Day and she also wished everyone luck for their attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
