On working as Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in Goodbye, Neena Gupta says it’s like dream come true

In Amitabh Bachchan’s forthcoming film, Goodbye, Neena Gupta will play Amitabh Bachchan’s wife, the film will be directed by Vikas Behl. Goodbye, billed as a slice-of-life film about a funeral, also stars Rashmika Mandanna, a Telugu actor.

Recently, Rashmika celebrated her 25th birthday. She spent her time filming with Amitabh Bachchan on the set. Owing to the current situation, the celebration was low-key and was done following all the necessary protocol.

Sharing pictures on social media from her birthday celebration, Rashmika wrote, “What a satisfying day looks like..P.S. The mask was taken off only for clicks! Wear a mask at all times, guys (sic).”

The birthday girl shared a picture with Big B and the other with Vikas Bahl. In the third photo, the actress can be seen posing with a bunch of gold and white balloons.

Veteran actor Neena Gupta has arrived on board Vikas Bahl’s approaching directorial Goodbye and will be seen playing Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in the drama. Neena Gupta and Amitabh Bachchan will share the screen for the first time in the movie. Neena Gupta illustrated why she agreed to do Goodbye by announcing she was impressed by the script Vikas read to her.

The actor moreover conveyed her enthusiasm at the opportunity to work alongside Bachchan. “When Vikas narrated the film to me, I was so happy. It is a wonderful script and one doesn’t think about anything else when the script is this exciting. Even the role is beautifully written and I am very excited to be sharing the screen space with Mr Bachchan. It is a dream come true for me and I am quite ecstatic about it,” Gupta said in a statement.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan’s fondness for Neena Gupta’s work was revealed in 2018 when he sent her a handwritten note praising her performance in Badhaai Ho. Balaji Telefilms and Reliance Entertainment are producing Goodbye.

On April 1, the film’s mahurat was filmed in Mumbai. Vikas Bahl and Ekta Kapoor reunite in Goodbye, having previously worked together on films such as Lootera and Udta Punjab.
