16 Year old Saurabh Chaudhary made India proud by winning a Gold at Asian Games 2018 in 10 m AP. He had also set Asian Games record scoring 240.7 in Men’s 10m Air Pistol medal event. And now, once again the Meerut Boy has shined brighter by winning Gold at ISSF World Championship. held in Changwon on Thursday. He won the Junior World Champion at the recent event. Breaking his own Junior World Record, he clinched Gold in Junior Men's 10 m Air Pistol with a final score of 245.5.
His earlier record was 243.7. He left the senior record behind by 2.4 points. The senior record is of 243.6 points held by Ukraine shooter Oleh Omelchuck.
Arjun Cheema won bronze with the score of 218. The Indian junior team also bagged silver with a combined score of 1730 by Saurabh, Arjun and Anmol.
In the Junior match, Saurabh qualified third by shooting 581. On the other hand, Arjun was 6th with a score of 577. In the finals, Saurabh took over the range by shooting higher 10s. After the 5 shots, he was placed second. However, a series of 10.6, 10.6, 10.9, 9.3 and 10.4 put him in lead with almost 1 point.
