WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging platforms that help people communicate with one another sans any hassle. The developers often bring some new features to this messaging app in order to enhance the user interface and usability. Earlier, we have heard some news about the probability of WhatsApp popping up ads in the chat window. Finally, it has become true and we might soon see troublesome ads covering our preferred messaging platform.
During the Annual Facebook Marketing Summit that took place in the Netherlands earlier this week, the executives have disclosed the news. As per the news, WhatsApp will begin displaying ads by the year 2020. We can see the ads as part of the Status tab inside the app. During the summit, they have shown us the slides of these ads that will show up on WhatsApp.
On Instagram, we come across the Instagram Stories that cover up the complete space on the app. Just like that, we might see the WhatsApp Statuses that will take the complete screen. However, it may display only when you tap the thumbnail. The ads that are shown on WhatsApp include pictures, videos, and others. Through these ads, it lets the companies share photos, videos, text messages, animated GIFs and others that will vanish after 24 hours.
There is a slight difference between the old WhatsApp status and the new one. Currently, it displays the name of the contact that uploads the status. Later, we can see the name of the company that's showing up the advertisement. One relief is that the ads don’t open automatically unless and until you click on them.
However, people feel that showing up ads on WhatsApp might make pretty uncomfortable for the users while using the app. As of now, we have become highly accustomed to this app without any sort of ads. Suddenly, if people come across the ads in the WhatsApp Status, they might not be able to access all the features easily.
Facebook might soon come up with some other changes in the year 2020. It might redirect the users from Facebook and Instagram to WhatsApp whenever we click on a promoted post on any of these social networking sites.
