AB de Villiers stated that it looked harder than it, in fact, was, however, his gravity-defying boundary catch on Thursday was affirmed "spiderman stuff" by an enthralled India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli.
RCB conquered Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs on May 17 with the aim to keep their hopes for the last game alive. The exceptional moment of the game was the one-handed hold that de Villiers had while being in the air at the borderline to brush off Alex Hales.
On May 17, when de Villiers took a striking catch during RCB's awe-inspiring success over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kohli was greatly surprised.
"That was Spiderman stuff. You don't do that as normal human beings. I thought it was going for a six but he pulled it off, then the jump and then the balance. I mean he can do freakish things but I am used to it now. His shots still leave me in awe but his fielding I am pretty used to now," Virat added.
de Villiers is just love and respect RCB and Indian skipper. The two are like brothers, undividable in the IPL.
"With the catch, I made it look tougher than it was. It curved away late, luckily it stuck. I got into a bad position," said de Villiers.
"Now we head to Rajasthan with momentum on our side, the team's feeling great. We're happy with the XI now, it's settled. Teams don't want us to win, looking at the strength, they want us to not win. We sense fear and we pounce," he added.
But it's not just cricketing talents that get them close. The two are both pretty romantic. Back in the year 2012, de Villiers had set up a detailed plan to propose his love for Danielle, with whom he got married during the year 2013.
de Villiers decided to propose his love in front of the Taj Mahal. It obviously impressed Danielle who responded in the positive but it also drew applaud from Virat, who tied the nuptial knot to Anushka Sharma in December 2017.
