Twitter got crammed with memes as well as jokes as the web users started migrating to the new application program named Koo. Koo is said to be the desi edition of the social media platform.
From well-known personalities to political heads, Koo already has a noteworthy number of prominent followers. But, seasoned Twitter users have come up with funny memes and jokes, teasing the novel application and its quick popularity.
The desi edition of the social media platform like Twitter is created by Bombinate Technologies Private Limited, a Bangalore-based private firm that was set up in the year 2015. The application, named Koo, acquired the Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge back in the month of August. It is available on iOS and Google Play Store.
Koo gained recognition as the IT Ministry showcased its displeasure with Twitter for failing to stick to directions to block accounts connected to the agriculturalist protests.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Law & IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Members of Parliament Tejasvi Surya and Shobha Karandlaje, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Isha Foundation’s Jaggi Vasudev, former cricketers Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble are amongst the political heads, ministers and celebs to have joined Koo.
In addition, the Union IT Ministry, India Post and the Niti Aayog are among the government departments to have an account on the app.
In a stern message to the American company, the Union IT Ministry had noted that Twitter was a midway and “they are obliged to obey the directions of the government. Refusal to do so will invite penal action”.
