In the recently held VLCC Miss India 2020 pageant, Manasa Varanasi was crowned as Miss India 2020, whereas Manya Singh was bestowed as Miss India 2020 runner-up. The latter’s journey to the crown is nothing short of an inspiration.
Manya Singh hails from a middle-class family in Mumbai. Her father is an auto-rickshaw driver and it is their main source of earning. In her interview with Miss India Org, the runner-up of Miss India 2020 said that it was because of the sacrifices her parents made that she could now live her dream.
The 19-year-old didn’t have money to continue with her studies. To fill the financial gap, she washed dishes in the evening and worked at a call centre while keeping up with her studies in the morning. However, she had the desire to study more but her family couldn’t afford the same.
But instead of crushing down on their daughter’s dreams, Manya’s parents mortgaged whatever jewellery they had to make sure she gets her degree certificate. Indeed, post all her parents' struggles, Manya Singh hasn’t forgotten her roots.
During her homecoming ceremony on February 16, Miss India 2020 runner-up arrived in her father’s auto rickshaw alongside her mother. Her father, Omprakash Singh, even led an auto-rickshaw rally to celebrate the victory of his daughter.
With no shame or hesitation, the beautiful Manya Singh wearing her crown posed alongside her parents and brother. Her parents even teared-up looking at the crowd gathered to congratulate their daughter for the amazing feat she has achieved.
Manya even touched her parents’ feet to seek their blessings for the journey ahead. All these heart-warming pictures are making rounds on the internet and the netizens are lauding Manya’s down-to-earth attitude even post the win.
While being felicitated at her college, Manya placed her crown on her mom and dad’s head, to pay them the due respect that they deserve.
The netizens are proud of Manya Singh and are wishing her good luck for her forthcoming journey.
