Singing is a god-gifted talent and not everyone has this. But there are many in this world whose voice will make you fall in love with that song as well as the person. Earlier, people had to struggle a lot to showcase their talent to the world as there were not public platforms. But today, there are so many reality shows and other ways where people showcase your talented skills and conquer the world.
What do people usually tend to do in their leisure time? Either they take a nap, read books, watch TV, or grab a cup of coffee with friends and much more. But a daily wager hailing from Kerala named Rakesh Unni enjoyed his break time in crooning. However, Rakesh did not know that from being just a wager, he will also be known for his talent one day.
A video is going viral where you can see this ordinary man wearing muddy clothes and a red cloth wrapped around his head and singing the song.
Rakesh was captured singing a song from Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam which is a dance song.
Rakesh told in his interview, “I cut rubber and carry it on my shoulders and load them onto a truck. That’s my job.”
Shameer, the truck driver, shot the video of his friend singing, sitting among rubber trees. His sister Shameela put it online it took the internet by storm.
Shankar Mahadevan, a renowned singer of Bollywood was left awestruck by this man’s singing and shared the video on Facebook. He also tried inquiring about this person.
Mahadevan caption the video saying, “This is called fruit of labour! When we hear this, it just makes me feel so so proud of our country that produces so much talent and is so rich in culture.”

Rakesh stated that the sound of the roads of Nooranad, Alappuzha is drowning out his voice. “I consider it my biggest blessing. He told me I have a good voice, a good future. I said I just want to see him once. He said we will not just see, we will sing together.”
Rakesh says, “The video did that. That’s when I started getting so many calls.”
Other well-known people who called Rakesh are singer Pandalam Balan, violinist musician Balabhaskar and music composer Gopi Sunder.
Tamil composer Ghibran has also been in search of Rakesh and also tweeted and asked about his contact details.
Rakesh’s phone has not stopped ringing since. He speaks in hurried tones. “I have not learnt music before, but for the last few months, I have begun training in classical music.”
