Veteran actor KTS Padannayil passes away aged 88 due to age related issues

Veteran actor of the Malayalam industry, KTS Padannayil breathed his last today morning. The actor who was 88 years old had been undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Cooperative Hospital in Kochi since July 19th. He passed away due to age-related issues on Thursday morning.

A statement from the hospital's side revealed that his demise happened at 6:40 AM. Many celebrities, politicians and fans have expressed their sadness over his passing. Padannayil is survived by his wife, Ramani and his three sons, Syam, Sannan, Saljan and a daughter, Swapna.

Padannayil became popular for playing supporting roles in the the late 1990s in Malayalam films. Throughout his career, he has acted in more than 50 movies. Padannayil became a familiar face in  Malayalam cinema in the 1990s after filmmaker Rajasenan's Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava and has even been a part of films such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Rekshadhikari Baiju Oppu, Sreekrishnapurathe Nakshathrathilakkam, Adyathe Kanmani .

Before entering the movies, Padaannayil was a theatre actor. He has acted in thousands of stage plays within 40 years of his career. He has performed with different groups like Jayabharath Nithakalalaya, Chenagassery Geetha, Vaikom Malavika, Kollam Tuna, and Attingal Padmasree. H has also starred in more than one hundred television comedy serials.
