Varanasi To Have First Luxury Cruise Ship From 15 Aug

Varanasi is one of the most sacred and spiritual places to visit. Located on the Banks of Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, the city is known for its ghats, temples, Paan and Banarasi Sarees. Varanasi is the home to over 2,000 temples including the famous Vishwanath Temple.

If you have ever visited the spiritual city, you must be aware of the lively feels of the city and the serenity on the banks of Ganga. And if you haven't been there, and planning in near future, then attending the Ganga Aarti that happens every evening is a must. Sit on the ghats and feels the cool breeze beside Ganga. Another thing you can do is to take a boat ride as well. Moreover, there is a good news for tourists and pilgrims visiting from the next week.

The city is going to have its first Luxury Cruise Ship to give an enchanting experience. The ship will take tour around the famed ghats of Varanasi and will educate the tourists about the rich culture and history. The services will be open for public from 15 August this year.

The cruise ship is named 'Alaknanda' and is equipped with all modern amenities and facilities like AC, bio-toilets, and fully functioning kitchen. It is meant to give a rich experience to the tourist and give them an insight about the rich heritage.

Currently, the services of boat ride are available. The rides go from Dashashwamedh Ghat to Harishchandra Ghat and back again. You can visit the famous Vishwanath temple and can take a ride to BHU  campus as well. Book a taxi and visit Sarnath which is again a spiritual site. It is where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after achieving enlightenment. Next to Sarnath is an archaeological museum which displays ancient Buddhist artifacts like jewelry, sculptures, art and carvings.

Attending the evening Ganga Aarti is a must.
