“Underworld don Chhota Rajan is still alive”- AIIMS Official refutes death rumours

Amid the circulating fake news about the death of underworld gangster Chhota Rajan due to COVID-19, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) refutes death rumours, claims news agency ANI.

Rajendra Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan is currently undergoing covid-19 treatment at AIIMS. On April 26, a Tihar jail DGP informed a sessions court that he could not be produced on video conferencing due to health conditions. On the same day, he was admitted in the hospital for his treatment.

Chhota Rajan has more than 70 cases lodged against him in relation to extortion, murder and smuggling in Maharashtra. He is serving a life sentence in Tihar jail since his arrest in Indonesia in 2015.

The AIIMS released a statement confirming that he is not dead and refuted the fake news.
