Actress turned Author Twinkle Khanna recently launched her third book titled 'Pyjamas are forgiving'. At the book launch, filmmaker Karan Johar who is also Twinkle's best friend interviewed her. Amongst several questions, he asked her that why she has dedicated the book to her mother Dimple Kapadia. On this, Twinkle replied, “She (Dimple Kapadia) was rather surprised when she found out that I dedicated this book to her because she has never encouraged me in anything. She has always tried to pick faults. When I first started writing columns, one of them became very popular and I called her up to ask her if she has read it and she replied – ‘No, but I wanted to tell you over dinner last night that none of your serving dishes match.”
What she said next made us realise that everybody shares the same relationship with their mothers. Children are often irritated with the constant nagging by their mother and they can't just stop it even if they are a celebrity. Twinkle said, “I was like what is the use of having you as a mother, I wish Hema Malini was my mother at least I would get a Kent water purifier free.”
We wonder how Dimple would have reacted after listening this and what are the views of Hema Malini on this.
Twinkle is also the author of Mrs Funnybones and The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad. She is the daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Twinkle is married to Akshay Kumar for 17 years and the duo is blessed with a girl and a boy.
As an actor, she has done films like Mela, Jaan, Barsaat, Baadshah, Joru Ka Ghulam etc. She was last seen as an actor in 2001 in the film Love Ke Liy Kuch Bhi Krega.
After giving back to back flops, she quit acting and turned author and film producer. As a producer she has given films like Padman, Thank You, Holiday, Patiala House, and Tees Maar Khan.
