India's wait to grab another medal at the Tokyo Olympics has finally ended as the 23-year-old boxer from Assam, boxer Lovlina Borgohain has bagged a bronze medal in boxing at the Tokyo Olympics. The boxer roared into the semi-finals of the women's welterweight category after defeating Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien- Chin by a split decision.
Lovlina has made it to the Bronze medal by practising her technical acumen as she was edged in the first round 3-2, and later on, she got her authority stamped by just making a clean sweep in the second round. Reportedly the Assam boxer has been playing in her very first Olympic games. The Boxer representing India was dominant to the opponent as she marked her victory by 4-1 and won for grabbing the medal by a split decision margin of 4-1. Tweets congratulating Lovlina Borgohain was shared as she grabbed and added to the stars for the country.
No matter what colour medal she grabbed in the Tokyo Olympics but she have made it to become the second Woman after boxer Mary Kom to win the medal in an Olympic game. Before her, Mary Kom won and grabbed a bronze medal back in the year 2012 London Olympics and after her Lovlina was the second to grab a medal as a woman boxer in the Tokyo olympics.
