England cricket player Ben Stokes has been in the news after scoring an amazing unbeaten century in the third match of the Ashes test series, when England defeated Australia by one wicket. This victory has indeed enabled England to keep their hopes alive in the ongoing Ashes cricket tournament.
Earlier, Ben Stokes had also scored a majestic unbeaten 84 runs in the finals of the 2019 world cup cricket against New Zealand in England. Ben Stokes was once again hailed as the greatest cricketer of all time by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and this statement really brought the wrath of the Sachin Tendulkar fans.
Actually the fans of Tendulkar did not like these comments by ICC and it really got a mixed response on various social media handles.
After their victory in the world cup ODI tournament in England, the official Twitter handle of ICC posted a picture of Stokes along with Tendulkar and captioned it, "The greatest cricketer of all time - and Sachin Tendulkar."
On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) again shared the picture on their official social media handle. This time also, the tweet by ICC did not go well with Tendulkar fans and there was a lot of cry over this tweet by the ICC.
• One supporter wrote: "BCCI plz take strict actions and suspend ICC for these worthless tweets (sic)."
• Another fan replied to ICC - Dude are you like Crazy. Why Not Braithwaite is Greatest hitting 4 sixes in final over to win cup for WI. Instead of giving Greatest tag, You can use one of the Greatest moments/ Players. And yes Just don't compare. You will never know how much @sachin_rt has given to cricket.
• One more fan wrote: I think Sachin deserves more respect than this.. In the late 90s he shouldered the Entire Indian cricket team on his Own..countless times.. The only difference.. There wasn't any Twitter during that time..
Ben Stokes truly deserves a great applause for displaying one of the best tests knocks ever, but as per the fans of Tendulkar he is nowhere near to be called as the greatest cricketer of all time.
In the third test match of the Ashes series, England team was bowled out for 67 runs in their first innings and was in the search of 73 more runs for securing a victory while targeting 359 runs. It was then that Jack Leach came into the scene on the fourth dayof the 3rd test and he along with Ben Stokes made sure that England won the match in an amazing manner and Stokes scored 135 runs without being out.
