Soorma showcases the inspiring journey of hockey player Sandeep Singh.
After impressing us with Diljit Dosanjh’s look as hockey legend Sandeep Singh, the makers of Soorma have released a motion poster of the film, featuring Taapsee Pannu.
Like Diljit, Taapsee is also portraying the character of a hockey player in the biographical sports drama. Taapsee plays the role of Harpreet aka Preet, who is a daughter, a sportsperson and a brave spirit.
Taapsee has undergone intensive training in hockey for her character in Soorma. She was trained by Sandeep Singh. The actress shared the motion poster on her Twitter account and captioned it as:
For my undying love for sports and my country.

Soorma will showcase the inspiring journey of hockey player, Sandeep Singh, who was seriously injured after being hit by an accidental gunshot in the Shatabadi train, while on his way to join the national team due to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later. The player was on a wheelchair and paralysed for two weeks. Post the incident, Sandeep not only recovered but also made a place in the national team.
The film has been directed by Shaad Ali and also features Angad Bedi in a key role. It is set to hit screens on July 13.
