Casting couch is majorly seen in every part of the entertainment world. Not just in Bollywood but also in other film industry across the globe. Some escape or bravely come out of it, some fall in prey and that in turn ruins their career and life too. This is really sad that even today it happens and there is no way one can completely stop it from happening.
But actors nowadays are taking the stand for themselves as well as for their co-stars or friends and also talking about it publicly. But before that, they never opened up it in front of the media.
Everyone faces the obstacle of the casting couch, however, very few agree for it to get success while many clearly refuse and instead expose that person in public to create awareness and also help others.
Bollywood star Swara Bhasker is one actress who is extremely upfront and speaks her mind out. She has never regretted her statements and has been quite clear about her views.
The diva had earlier shared about being harassed by a filmmaker during an outdoor shoot.
Swara opened up about her first-hand experience of this social issue and revealed a Bollywood executive, who claimed to be the manager of a top filmmaker, tried to kiss her during a work meeting. Yes, you heard it right!
While her interaction with a leading web portal, Swara disclosed that she was repeatedly asked about the details of her residential address. She then sensed something uncanny and wanted to wrap it up quickly.
Swara said When I got out this guy actually tried to kiss my ear and said 'I love you baby' and I kind of did that (gestures shirking away).”
She further added, “So, he got a mouthful of my hair so I was just like... so that kind of stuff happens. It's all a part of the casting couch, right?"
Recalling her experience where she was stalked and harassed by the film director, Swara said, "He stalked me during the day and called me through the night. I was asked to go to his hotel room on the pretext of discussing the scene and would find him drinking. During the first week itself, he started talking about love and sex and one night, arrived in my room, drunk, and asked to be hugged. It was scary."
On the work front, Swara was last seen in Veere Di Wedding which also starred Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Sikha Talsania. The film fared well at the box-office.
