Sushma Swaraj asked Harish Salve to collect Re. 1 fee, an hour before breathing her last

Everyone was shocked after hearing the untimely demise of former external affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj, yesterday evening. She was a great asset for the country and has won many hearts with her compassion and approachable attitude. Even in her last hours she was very much in touch with everyone she worked closely.

As per lawyer Harish Salve, Sushma had contacted him an hour before her death.

Harish Salve represented India at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where he made a case for Kulbhushan Jadav, who is in the custody of Pakistan since 2016. The ICJ ruled in India's favor last month and asked Pakistan to suspend Jadhav's death sentence for the time being.

Salve had charged just Re.1 for the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav and yesterday evening, Sushma asked him to collect his fee. He spoke to her at 8:50 PM in an emotional conversation. She asked Salve to come and meet her and also said that she will give him Rs. 1 for winning the case. Salve was thanked by Sushma after India's win at ICJ.

Salve was asked to meet her at 6 PM on Wednesday to collect the fee of Rs. 1. Salve was really shocked at hearing about her demise and called it a huge loss.

Salve remembered her as a tall and fine leader, who stood for everything. Her popularity had no boundaries and even the opposition parties respected her a lot. Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that she was like a sister to him and they knew each other for the last 42 years. He also said that they never called each other by name and Sushma called him Bhai and he called her "Behen".  Ghulam Nabi Azad shared a healthy relationship with Sushma Swaraj and he also expressed his shock at the news of her demise.
