Prafulla Shinde, founder-director of S3 cabs, stated, “There will be neither surge nor night charges. Our cabs can be booked at a fare of INR 10-12 per km, which is lesser than other aggregators.”

Prafulla Shinde also said that the firm will charge less from drivers too. Yes, they have fixed lower facility charges as compared to other cab aggregators. The facility charges stay at 3% from drivers making around INR 1,500-2,000 and 10% from drivers making above it INR 2K as against 20-25% charged by others. S3 also stated that it has also set up a service application program for eateries, hotels, bars, etc, who can make use of it to place cab bookings for their clientele.

Shinde stated that S3 also proposes to roll out a parcel service in the month of July and it is already making discussions with two web shopping companies. As per earlier reports, Sohel Kazani, director, Sahyadri Smart Safe, stated that he got backing from 10 transport or cab unions, comprising the Maharashtra Tourist Permit Taxi Union amongst others, for S3.

Sohel Kazani added that the market prospect was recognized by these unions and he operated as a facilitator. With a total investment of $149.62K (INR 1 Cr) to build up the application, he considers this as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) proposal and wishes to give back to the society he belongs to. “Drivers will not be charged for the first Rs 1,800 collection every day and collections above this will be charged only at 10 percent, which is just half of what Uber and Ola charge their drivers,” Kazani added.
