South Star Siddharth And Varun Dhawan Starts Kerala Donation Challenge, Twitter Supports Them

Rescue operations are being conducted in Kerala due to heavy rains which have brought the city standstill. South actor Siddharth has come up with a Kerala Donation Challenge.

On 17th August, Friday, the actor took to Twitter to post a tweet along with a picture of a bank letter that showed his contribution towards to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (Govt of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram).

Siddharth's tweet read, "I did the #KeralaDonationChallenge. It was awesome! Will you? Please?"

After his tweet, Twitterratis decided to extend their support and shared similar posts detailing their donations.

Siddharth's tweet also had a letter which requested people to help the needy in such tough times. The letter read, "It is our duty as Indians to do what we can to help our people in Kerala. Every rupee counts towards making a difference. I believe social media has that special power to create magical movement overnight."

Calling this #KeralaDonationChallenge, he has asked people to "post your donation proof" in order to inspire others. "We all know how much the internet loves a challenge."

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan also tweeted something similar and urged people to help and even tagged Siddharth in his post. His tweet read, "If you can help please contribute in any way possible."

Meanwhile, Twitter has accepted the South actor's challenge and many people are now posting tweets along with snaps detailing their donations.

Here take a look at the Twitter reactions:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been deeply involved in this matter and also took an aerial survey in Kerala's Kochi this morning. He also tweeted about the same and his post read, "In Kerala, I took stock of the situation arising in the wake of the devastating floods across the state. Joined a review meeting and undertook an aerial survey to assess the damage caused by flooding. The nation stands firmly with Kerala in this hour."

Well, we hope just like these actors and the government, more and more people will come forward to help the needy.
