The daughter of late Bollywood actor, Vinod Mehra, named Soniya Mehra recently spilled the beans on her father’s relation with veteran actress Rekha. She also revealed that she has not quit Bollywood yet. The actress went on to add that she has gotten engaged to her long-time boyfriend Kunal.
Later on, when Soniya was asked about which of her father’s films, she would play the lead role in, if it gets remade. Replying to the same, the 32-year-old told E Times, "I would love to do the remakes of Ghar and The Burning Train.”
For the unknown, Rekha was the leading lady in the 1975 movie Ghar. When E Times asked Soniya if she has ever met the ever-green actress, she said that she is privileged to have met the latter 3 to 4 times.
Soniya added that she happened to bump into Rekha Ji during some social event or functions. Furthermore, the actress also addressed the rumours of her father Vinod Mehra and Rekha getting married.
Responding to the question, Soniya said, “I cannot comment on that question because I am not in the know. It was all before I was even born. Frankly, I also don't have a right to comment on it as it is their life. As far as I am concerned, they were just close and dear friends.”
Back in 1990 when Vinod Mehra passed away, his daughter Soniya Mehra was just one-and-half years old.
Furthermore, Soniya was also quizzed about if she inquired her mother Kiran Mehra about her father Vinod and Rekha’s marriage. Replying to this question, the actress cleverly replied, "Honestly no, I haven't felt that way. Everyone has a past and his/her own journey. It's not my place to judge or enquire. If it's something important, I will be told."
Late actor Vinod Mehra and veteran actress Rekha have shared the screen space in films like Ghar, and the 1984 movie Bindiya Chamkegi.
Vinod Mehera left for heavenly abode on October 30, 1990, following some complication after suffering a heart attack.
