Shankar Mahadevan sings breathless for more than one minute on Independence Day for India’s Progress

India celebrated its 72nd Independence day on this 15 August and everyone was filled with immense passion and proud for the country. Tricolors were seen everywhere and from everywhere we mean it. The world celebrated India’s freedom by showing respect towards our motherland. New York paid the respect by turning its iconic Empire State Building (1,454 feet tall with 102 storeys) color into saffron, white and green (India’s flag) along with Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. Even the Niagara Falls in Canada was also illuminated in saffron, white and green to mark India’s Independence Day.

Our Bollywood celebs also expressed their views on 15th August and paid respect to the country in their own ways. While every citizen did something on Independence day whether in school or colleges or anywhere, B'town's noted singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan paid a  'breathless' tribute to the 'vibrant nation' of the 21st century.

Shankar took to his twitter and shared a video in which he managed to include all the PM Modi's initiatives like Skill India, Jan-Dhan Yojna, Aadhar to Make In India, Start-Up India, Swacch Bharat and others in the song. He wrote, "Non stop India! A tribute to our vibrant nation and the new heights of development we are scaling. Jai Hind! #IndependenceDay2018 Hon’ble PM @narendramodi".

Have a look:

PM Modi didn't take much time to react to the video and tweeted, "Lovely composition @Shankar_Live ! For many, it brings back memories of ‘Breathless.’ Like your song, 125 crore Indians are working nonstop for India’s progress!"

Here's his tweet:

The singer thanked the prime minister for his kind words to the composition and wrote, "Respected sir, thank you so much for your kind words! Always inspired by you and your hard work! This is my small contribution to a larger cause!"

Even Bollywood star Akshay Kumar also said it as befitting homage on 15th August and wrote taking to his twitter, "That's a befitting tribute for #IndependenceDay're also unstoppable like Non stop India!"
