Shahid Afridi Wished Independence Day To India And Got Much Love In Return

India celebrated its 72nd Independence Day yesterday. The whole country was filled with the feeling of love and patriotism towards the nation. People remembered our freedom fighters and also thanked our soldiers who are there to protect us day and night. People wished each other via WhatsApp, Facebook, Calls etc. Celebrities too took to their Social media handles to wish the special day to all Indians. However, we got one wish from cross borders as well. And it was from former Pakistani cricket player Shahid Afridi.

He took to his Twitter account and wished all the Indians with a heartfelt note. He wrote, "Happy Independence Day to India, our neighbors across the border. I sincerely hope that from this year onwards, both Pakistan and India work towards resolving their issues for a better, peaceful and prosperous region where India Pak cricket matches can also be frequently held."

His tweet showed the call out for love and peace from both nations and the big-hearted Indians were overwhelmed to see this. Soon, after he posted this message, Indians started praising him for the spirit he showed by this tweet.

Here's how people replied to him:

A user wrote: "Thanks a lot agar is trh k log aur mile to dono desh acche s reh skte h"

Even citizens of Pakistan appreciated Afridi for his tweet. A user wrote, "That's like a true gentleman. Hats of to you lala for being a true ambassador of peace . Thank you for always showing a positive image of our nation. Thank u for alwys being the source of joy & proud to our Pakistan. Massive respect."

Well, it was actually appreciable. Isn't it?

India and Pakistan were one nation until they faced partition in 1947 when we got independence. India celebrates Independence on 15 August while Pakistan celebrates on 14 August.
