After scoring 76 Goals in 5 Matches, Indian Men’s Hockey Team To Play Against Malaysia In Semi-Finals

The defending team of Indian Men's Hockey Team has been unstoppable till now. Till now, the team has scored a total of 76 goals in just 5 matches at the group stage while breaking some records. The team has now made it to the semi-finals after attaining against Indonesia (17-0), Hong-Kong China (26-0), Japan (8-0), South Korea (5-3) and Sri Lanka (20-0).

India will now play against Malaysia in the semifinals who finished second in Pool B behind Pakistan. Malaysia too showed good performance in the pool stages with easy wins over Kazakhstan (16-2), Thailand (10-0), Bangladesh (7-0) and Oman (7-0).

Indians are definitely eyeing for a Gold in hockey after seeing the previous trends. India has played Malaysia 116 times and won 81 of those encounters while the Malaysians have won only 17. And is we talk about Asian Games specifically, the the two teams had a face-off for 11 times and India had never lost to Malaysia until the 2010 edition at Guangzhou.

The match will be played today on 30th August in Jakarta, Indonesia where the Asian Games 2018 are being held. It will start at 4:00 PM (IST). The match will be live streamed on Sony Liv and will be telecasted on Sony ESPN, Sony Ten 2, Ten 2 HD, and Sony ESPN HD.

PR Sreejesh, Captain, India said, "We must play with high speed and control the match from the first quarter itself to put pressure on them.”

Sreejesh is aware that short corners are one of their strong points.
