Sangli, MH: Women expresses gratitude by tying Rakhi to defence personnels

The state of Maharashtra is one of those states in the country that is being ravished by water. Army has been called in to help with the operations to save people and evacuate the places and the personnel are doing their best to save every person they can from the affected area.

The over water situation in districts like Kolhapur and Sangli is still critical. In Kohlapur entire vehicles and houses have submerged under water.

In Sangli district of Maharashtra, a women ahead of the festival of Rakshabandhan tied rakhis on the wrists of Indian Army personnel, Navy and Police officials. It was their way of expressing their gratitude to the men in uniform for their help with the rescue operations in the over water affected regions. Reportedly the soldiers returned the gratitude by singing a song for their sisters.

Recently, there has been a video shared wherein a little boy in the state of Maharashtra went to an Army personnel and told him - ‘aap bahut acha kaam karte ho’ (translated – you do your duty very well). He then shook his hand and saluted him.

A video, couple of days before that, had surfaced showing a woman touching the feet of an army man, who was part of the rescue team that saved her life.

All these instances show that men in uniform are literally putting their own lives on the edge, to save citizens. We also salute the army, cops and individuals just like the boy as they are risking their lives to save others.
