Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man to star in HBO after making an exit from MCU

The Marvel's Iron Man has not let his fame down from the Hollywood and now-a-days is in talks about his next character after playing Tony Stark or Iron Man for more than a decade. With its leading stardom now he has collaborated with TV adaptation of Vietnamese-American author Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer-winning debut novel The Sympathizer for HBO and A24. His last release, Dolittle, began production before Avengers: Endgame finished.

It will be the show for the first time where Downey Jr will be seen in an acting role after the series ended in 2019’s the Marvel Avenger: Endgame. As per Hollywood media portals, the actor will be seen portraying in multiple antagonistic roles which includes “Orange County congressman, a CIA agent and a Hollywood film director.”

Robert Jr when tapped by media said in a statement that in order to adapt Mr. Nguyen's important and masterful work required a visionary team. He went on to add that the novel has been described as "blistering exploration of identity and America."

His past collaboration with HBO’s miniseries were  the reboot of Perry Mason, which starred Matthew Rhys in the nominal role, in 2020.Its previous collaborations with HBO include also includes Zendaya-led Euphoria.
