Rishi Kapoor’s Younger Brother Rajiv Kapoor Passes Away Aged 58 Due To Cardiac Arrest

Late actor Rishi Kapoor’s brother Rajiv Kapoor passed away on Tuesday morning. He left for heavenly abode after suffering a heart attack at the age of 58.

Speaking of Rajiv Kapoor, he was the youngest son of late actor-producer Raj Kapoor. He starred in the 1985 hit movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

Rajiv Kapoor also happened to be the younger brother of actors Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor.

Taking to her social media handles, veteran actress, Neetu Kapoor paid tribute to her late brother-in-law. Dedicating a post to Rajiv Kapoor, she shared his photo and wrote “RIP.”

Komal Nahta also paid tribute to the actor and shared the news of his passing away. His tweet reads, “Very sad news. Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor passes away following a heart attack.”

Reports suggest that Rajiv Kapoor was rushed to a hospital in Chembur on Tuesday morning. However, on reaching the hospital the doctors declared that he has passed away.

Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor also has confirmed the news by speaking to TOI. He told them, “I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him.”

Randhir also added that he is at the hospital waiting to see his youngest brother for the very last time.

Apart from Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Rajiv Kapoor also starred in Mera Saathi, and Hum To Chale Pardes among others. Apart from being an actor he also bankrolled his only directorial ventures Prem Granth and Aa Ab Laut Chalen.

The late actor also turned into a film producer with the 1991 film Henna. The film was also produced by his elder brother Randhir Kapoor.

Last year on April 30, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67 after battling with cancer for almost two years.

The whole entertainment fraternity mourned the untimely passing away of an evergreen star.
