Rishi Kapoor thanks Shabana Azmi for birthday wish; calls himself a big admirer of actress

Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor just celebrated his 67th birthday two days back in New York.

On his birth anniversary, a number of stars or fellow workers wished the veteran star on his big day.

Well known Bollywood actress who has also shared the screen space with Rishi Kapoor in some hit films like Amar Akbar Anthony, which was released in 1977, has wished the actor on the day of his birthday.


Shabana Azmi was seen quoting, "@chintskap salgirah mubarak dear friend. Jaldi wapas aa jao...bahut saara pyar (Happy Birthday my dear friend. Come back soon. Lots of love)," in her post on social media.

Rishi Kapoor had made sure to reply all the birthday wishes that he had got from his industry friends on social media and he was also quick to take notice of Shabana Azmi's wish.

Replying to her comment on Twitter, Rishi Kapoor really praised Shabana Azmi's acting skills and said that it was indeed a great shame that both of them were not able to work in more films.


In his reply, Rishi Kapoor tweeted, "What a wonderful actor! What a shame never got to work a lot more! Thank you Shabana Azmi ji for always encouraging me. Both Neetu and me are great admirers of you and Javed sahab. Bas aa hi raha hoon jaldi. Much respect and love! Thank you for your greetings!".

Rishi Kapoor celebrated his 67th birthday on the 4th of September along with his wife Neetu Kapoor in New York city and the actor had worked along with Shabana Azmi in movies such as Raahi Badal Gaye (1985), Tehzeeb (2003) and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977).

Apart from this, Rishi Kapoor also acted in Shabana Azmi's movie, named "Chalk N Duster", which was released in 2016.

After that, he left to New York for treating his cancer disease. The movie "Chalk N Duster" also had other Bollywood stars such as Juhi Chawla, Divya Dutta, Zarina Wahab and Girish Karnad in the main roles.
