Remembering Rajguru On His 110th Birth Anniversary, Know Some Interesting Facts About Him

Rajguru is one of the brave-hearted Indian revolutionaries who was born on August 24, 1908. Today, on his 110th birth anniversary, let's take a few moments and read out some facts about him that you should know.

His full name was Shivaram Hari Rajguru and he came to join the Indian revolutionaries at a very early age. Rajguru was of Bhagat Singh's party, who came in everyone's eye when he was imprisoned for taking the life of Lala Lajpat Rai. At the age of 23, he was hanged for the same crime.

Rajguru was born in Khed, near Pune Maharashtra. He was one of those who did not believe in the nonviolent civil disobedience preferred by Mahatma Gandhi. He believed that this was against oppression were far more effective against British rule and so, he joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, who wanted India to be freed from British rule by any means.

In 1928 at Lahore, Rajguru joined Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev and took part in the murder of a British police officer, JP Saunders. Rajguru was given the verdict of sentencing him along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev for taking the life of Saunders on March 23, 1931. He was very young when he left for the heavenly abode. He is still remembered as one of the freedom revolutionaries who gave their lives for the freedom of India.

In honour of the Rajguru, a shopping complex at Hisar, Haryana is named after him. He had the knowledge of Sanskrit and the Hindu religious scriptures as he learned and read them in Varanasi at a very early age. In Varanasi only he came in contact with the Enthusiastic Indian revolutionaries to contribute for the freedom and joined the movement and became an active member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA). Rajguru's ideal was Shivaji (King of Maratha Empire) and follows his rebel tactics.

Fearless and unconquerable courageous Rajuru was regarded as the gunman of Bhagat Singh's party.
