Rani Mukerji Hoists Indian Flag At The Federation Square In Melbourne

The Bollywood stars are currently in Australia to attend the Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne. Rani Mukerji is also attending the event as her latest film 'Hichki' will also be screened. In the film, she played the lead as a teacher who suffered from a neurological disorder. The movie performed decent at the box office and also got positive reviews from fans and critics. The film was a special one to Rani as it was her comeback film in Bollywood after the birth of her daughter Adira.

The film festival has been kickstarted with a bang. Rani hosted the Indian National Flag at The Federation Square in Melbourne. It was followed by the call 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' with the Indian National Anthem playing in the background. Watch here:

Rani looked beautiful in the white chiffon saree and complimented it with a chiffon shawl to deal with the cold winds in Melbourne. Her pearl necklace and minimal make-up just added to her beauty.

At the press conference held on Friday, Rani said that is glad to represent India and the Bollywood fraternity in Australia. She said, "The Indian film fraternity is so diverse, So many languages and cultures so it’s great to see films from various cultures under one roof."

In her 22 year long career, Rani has given all kinds of films to the industry. From iconics like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' tosocial drama like 'No one killed Jessica'  to women centric films like 'Mardani', she has done it all. In 2014, she was felicitated by Prince Charles for raising the issue of child abuse through her work in Mardaani.

She got married to filmmaker Aditya Chopra in 2014 and is blessed with a beautiful daughter Adira.
