Cast: Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Freddy Daruwala
Director: Remo D'Souza
Rating: 2 Stars (out of 5)
One of the most awaited films of the year turns as one of the most disappointing movies of the year. The third instalment of the Race franchise receiving the worst ever comment while the previous two instalments have been a blockbuster and earned well at the opening day.
Well, the expectation was quite high since people got to know that Salman Khan is in the lead. The storyline and punch had all gone to the bin and it was just the couple of songs that boosted fans’ excitement.
Story: The film starts with a big star cast and all the luxuries. It was slated to release on the Eid but even Salman's fans seem to be unhappy with 'Race 3'.
Well, the film started with Anil Kapoor playing the role of Shamsher Singh and his not so trustworthy kids. But, he tries to make things normal between Sikander (Salman Khan), Sanjana (Daisy Shah), Suraj (Saqib Saleem) and Yash (Bobby Deol).
The screenplay of the film is so good that even in the complex fight casts hair even not gone out of place. But, the film rules on the content that is weak indeed! While the second half is full of twists and turns that rather makes the audience less impressed and leaves them in frustration.
Remo D’Souza enters the franchise of Race but people are really missing out Abbas & Mustan (director of previous two instalments)
Anil Kapoor did well by playing the role of Shamsher while Bobby Deol missed the chance of a comeback with his poor expression. Talking about Daisy and Jacqueline's role, the ladies couldn't make do it better. And the expectation from the main character aka Salman Khan was very high. But Bhaijaan failed too to deliver the touch like Saif Ali Khan delivered in last two films.
Taran Adarsh said: "All that glitters is not gold... Remo D’souza misses the golden opportunity! Race3 rests on Salman’s brawny shoulders... Eid holidays + brand value attached to the film [#Race] are huge plusses... But the biggest of films need a strong foundation [content] to stand tall... Unfortunately, #Race3 lacks that power!"
Anupama Chopra Site wrote: Race 3 has the cars and locations but everything else is in short supply – especially the trademark kameenapan. The entry of Salman Khan has made the franchise sanskari. At one point in the film, Sikander says: family aur family ke prati loyalty se bhad kar kuch nahin hota. I thought I had walked into the wrong film. This isn’t Race. It is, as Salman is rumored to have described it, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! meets Dhoom. You can imagine how that plays out.
Rachit Site said: " To say that the film has a wafer thin plot is an understatement. There’s absolutely no punch or drive in the script and as a result the story of the film just does not involve the viewer at all.But for all its big moments, Race 3 just does not work up the feeling of suspense and intrigue that made the previous masala movies from the franchise a guilty pleasure. This film has a lot of visual appeal but the all style and no substance approach makes this 2 hours 40 minutes film a real drag."
Like we said, Salman Khan's fans too unhappy with this treat of Eid 2018. What's your take on this mention in the comment?
