When cute Alia Bhatt forayed into Bollywood, a lot of people ignored her as a celebrity kid, however, she has showcased her ability on diverse occasions at the moment.
In Meghna Gulzar’s new offering named Raazi, she dons the character of a secret agent who ties the knot into a Pakistan family only to assist the Indian authorities.
The film is based on the work of fiction ‘Calling Sehmat’ by Harinder Sikka. The movie also has Vicky Kaushal.
On its first day, the movie has managed to rake in Rs 8.25 crore.
Trade expert shared the first-day collection of Alia’s movie as he made a tweet, “Power of SOLID CONTENT… #Raazi starts Day 1 with a BIG BANG… The EXCEPTIONAL word of mouth should result in a FANTASTIC opening weekend.”
Well- known movie trade analyst Girish Johar had projected the first-day collection at Rs 5 crore.
He had stated, “A deadly combination is at work in Raazi: Karan Johar’s backing, Alia Bhatt’s acting and Meghna Gulzar’s direction. Moreover, Alia is coming back to the silver screen after a wait of almost a year, so the expectations are huge from this one.”
He also added, “The trailer and the songs have generated ample buzz but Raazi is also a huge step away from the hardcore commercial flicks. It is therefore expected to serve to a limited multiplex audience.”
KJo had also stated that the earnings may go up if the flick bags positive reviews from all sides. And definitely, this movie is bagging positive reviews.
The Indian Express’ own Shalini Langer gave the film a 3.5 star rating.
She stated, “…at a time when hate and anger are the currency of the subcontinent, a film like Raazi needs to be made. For peeping into the Valley and finding a true-blue patriot, for looking across the border and finding decency, and forgiving Kashmiri embroidery as worn by Alia an authentic, modern, featherlight touch. Like a delicious Indian irony, expect the clothes to linger around longer.”
The movie has gathered optimistic reviews from all sides including the reviewers.
Our ace reviewer Ankita Chaurasia provide ‘4 stars’ to the movie and stated, “The story is so riveting that you find yourself on the edge of your seat, biting off those nails, guessing what’s next and being blown over when something entirely different happens.”
