India is one step nearer to 1,200kmh Hyperloop journey as the much awaited Pune-Mumbai hyperloop mission carries on its movement.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and envoys from the State administration visited the hyperloop test spot in the Nevada Desert and even witnessed a live test of the revolutionary transport arrangement.
This visit is said to be a noteworthy visit after inking MoU between Maharashtra administration and Virgin Hyperloop during Novemeber last year.
The hyperloop way will connect central Pune, Navi Mumbai International Airport and the city of Mumbai in just a period of 25 minutes, hooking up 26 million people and producing a flourishing, cutthroat mega region in the route.
The hyperloop is planned to begin from Pune, and will come all the way till BKC by the use of projected Navi Mumbai Airport close to Panvel where administration proposes it to hook up with Colaba-Seepz Metro-3 underground passageway and the DN Nagar- Mankhurd Metro-2B corridor, and in addition the bullet train workstation, if possible.
Kiran Gitte, Metropolitan Commissioner, PMRDA told media people, "The pre-feasibility conducted for Mumbai-Pune hyperloop has already been concluded and currently Virgin Hyperloop One is conducting a feasibility report for futuristic transit system. We basically plan to connect BKC in Mumbai because there are two Metro corridors proposed in BKC from where a person can go to any part of the city. We also plan it to connect with proposed Navi Mumbai airport.”
The high-capacity passenger and cargo hyperloop route will finally hold up to 150 million traveler trips per annum, saving over 90 million hours of tour time and offering citizens with better chances and social and financial mobility.
Richard Branson stated, "I am incredibly excited to see this Pune-Mumbai hyperloop project go from a vision to reality as it starts detailed planning. The opportunity is enormous - to connect 26 million people with access to affordable infrastructure that will unlock significant economic and social value."
Gitte added, "Virgin Hyperloop One is taking data from several agencies like MMRDA, MSRDC considering for Mumbai-Pune Expressway MSRDC planning authorities, and conducting feasibility study at its own cost. It will be challenging considering we plan to connect Metro junctions in Pune and Mumbai from where one can move to another place."
