American television studio ABC, the Disney-owned network recently issued an apology for showing the controversial scene that showed Indians as terrorists.
Priyanka Chopra who is playing the role of a CIA operative chose to keep mum until today but now finally she broke her silence. The actress feels sorry for the episode where a plot has been involved in which a disappointed Indian MIT professor pretended to be a Pakistani national who plots a nuclear attack in New York.
Priyanka took to Twitter and wrote, "I'm extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change."
ABC said in a statement to the leading daily apologized for the controversial Indian terrorist episode: “ABC Studios and the executive producers of Quantico would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, The Blood of Romeo. The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series. Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case, we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”
Well, even after her apology some people can't stop pointing her and a Twitter user wrote "...But still can't figure how come Priyanka Chopra agreed to ditch her own country and Indian people for mere breadcrumbs in West."
Hopefully, ABC still stands for Priyanka Chopra when people can't stop attacking her on social media.
