Being the Prime Minister of the country, one has the responsibility on their shoulder to address the nation with their impactful speeches. Reports state that a lot of thought process goes behind penning down these speeches which are later delivered to the general public by the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi often addresses the nation with his powerful speeches. At times these speeches are for providing some important information to the general public about the happening in the nation, and other times they are for celebrating any occasion.
If one ever were to look into PM’s schedule for the day, it might be full of speeches. These days due to the worldwide health crisis, PM Modi addresses the nation via webinar sessions.
With PM Narendra Modi delivering so many speeches, citizens are curious to know who writes them for him. To get to know the answer of the same, a leading news portal filed a Right to Information (RTI) application with Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
They also enquired about the amount that is spent in the exercise of penning down these speeches. In reply to the RTO query, the Prime Minister Office didn’t open up about the money spent on preparing Prime Minister’s speeches.
The reports suggest that while the inputs are received from various sources, the Prime Minister gives his speeches the required final touch.
In reply to the RTI query, PMO has replied that depending on the nature of the event, various individuals, officials, departments, entities, organisations among others provide the input for PM’s speech.
The reports further add, “The speech is given final shape by the PM himself.”
The speech gains its impact when the orator delivers it with class. In fact, many people allegedly consider PM Narendra Modi in the league of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee when it comes to delivering the speech with absolute power.
