PM Modi and audience laughed after Trump’s witty remark at G7 summit

On Monday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a bilateral meet on the sidelines of G7 Summit in Biarritz, France.

US President said that the two leaders discussed Kashmir and Pakistan earlier during their meet. Modi added that the issues between Pakistan and India are 'bilateral' and added that over Kashmir we do not want to 'bother' other countries in the world.

The two world leaders, amidst all the serious talks, shared a laugh over language as they addressed the media. While PM Modi was interacting with the international media in Hindi, Donald Trump answered all the questions in English.

PM Modi, during the conversation, told the media that they should let him and Trump talk to each other. If the need arises, they would interact and apprise the media of what discussions have taken place. He said this in Hindi. To which US President Donald Trump quipped, “He actually speaks very good English, he just doesn't want to talk right now". PM Modi and the audience laughed after Trump’s witty remark.

This media interaction has garnered a lot of interesting reactions on Twitter.

One user wrote that Modi ji talks in Hindi as he wants each and every Indian to understand his words and it's a good thing to talk in our own language during international meetings. Proud to have him and every Indian support him in his mission to develop NEW INDIA.

PM Modi, before the media interaction, addressed the session on ‘Biodiversity, Oceans, and Climate’ at the G7 summit.
