People are celebrating Eid-al-fitr all over the world

Today on the auspicious day of Eid-all-Fitr or the festival of breaking of the fast, it is being celebrated in India. In population of India Muslims constitute 14.23% of total population. Today on the occasion, the devotees offer the prayers at the mosque and take blessing. After that they will exchange the gifts with each other and take blessings from the elder ones. The festival is incomplete if younger ones don’t get Eidi from the elder ones.

As all over the worldthis day is being celebrated , here are the few pictures of the celebration across the world.

  1. Pune:

At Eidgah near Golibar Maidan, people are offering prayers on the occasion of Eid.

  1. Ahemdabad:

At Eidgah in Ahmedabad, people on the auspicious day of Eid are offering prayers and celebrating the occasion today.

  1. Ludhiana:

In Ludhiana today a woman during the Eid namaz outside the Suffian Chowk Masjid on Wednesday.

  1. Kolkata:

Here people are seen performing prayer at Red Road in Kolkata which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Few things you should know about Eid:

  1. It is celebrated to end the holy end of fasting.
  2. Eid-ul-Fitr vegans when the new moon is sighted.
  3. The Eid greetings Eid Mubarak," which means"Have a blessed Eid!," is a common one on the occasion.
  4. The festival Eid-al-Fitr typically lasts for three days.
  5. Ramadan and Eid-Al-Fitr is celebrated on different dates of Gregorian every year.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Twitter handle wished the people on the occasion of Eid by posting a signed message in Urdu and English.

"May this special day ignite the spirit of harmony, compassion and peace in our society. May everyone be blessed with happiness" the message read.

Home Minister Amit Shah also wished people Eid by tweeting on Twitter. He tweeted and wrote "Extend my warm greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. May this festival bring peace, joy and happiness in everyone's life,".


Warm greetings and best wishes to everyone celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr. May this festival strengthen the bonds of peace, harmony and brotherhood in our society." By saying this Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wished people on the auspicious day of Eid-al-fitr.
