As per latest news, Abhishek Sharma directorial venture Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran has showcased outstanding development on its second day.
The John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer has made around Rs 12.46 crores on the second day of its release.
About the latest collection of the movie, well known trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Solid word of mouth catches up… SUPERB 58.51% growth for #Parmanu on Day 2… Biz is likely to be affected today [evening onwards] due to IPL finals… A strong hold on Mon could make up for revenue loss… Fri 4.82 cr, Sat 7.64 cr. Total: ₹ 12.46 cr [1935 screens]. India biz.”
The movie, which had raked in Rs 4.82 crore at the ticket booth on its very first day, is an ode to the country’s unappreciated champions who joined hands in spite of all odds to turn their country a nuclear world power.
John Abraham stated, “Nothing could make me happier today than the validation of our efforts to celebrate our unsung heroes by our audience across India! I have been getting so many calls from our distributors and exhibitors and I’m thankful to each one of them for their unstinted support and for standing by and loving this labour of love. I am humbled and grateful to each one of them.”
In his appraisal for NDTV, movie reviewer Saibal Chatterjee provided the flick 1.5 star out of 5.
"Abhishek Sharma's Parmanu - The Story Of Pokhran is a tale without a sting. The script, which unabashedly attributes the success of India's nuclear programme to one prime minister and his chief scientific adviser, serves a deliberate, blatantly lopsided, please-the-current-powers-that-be purpose," Saibal Chatterjee wrote.
Of producing a movie on the 1998 Pokhran nuclear examinations, the super star John told media people that the film it described the path in my life owing to incidents that were linked with the sanctions, which accompanied.
“I was planning to go somewhere, to a college, (but I) didn't get through. There was anger at first, then the understanding came that this (nuclear status) can make India great... I started thinking like an Indian and started feeling like a nationalist."
Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran feature John, Diana Penty and Boman Irani donning the major characters. The movie is produced under the banner of JA Entertainment together with Zee Studios and Kyta Productions.
Parmanu- The Story of Pokhran reached worldwide theaters on May 25, 2018.
