Netflix Announces Prequel Of Baahubali The Beginning, Will Be Based On The Rise Of Sivagami

Baahubali film series changed the face of Indian Cinema forever. A film with extraordinary characters, kingdom and story has made every Indian proud of the quality of storytelling and VFX. Rajamouli had earlier said that Baahubali 3 will surely happen but will take time.

With the success of Sacred Games, Netflix is looking into creating more content for the Indian and have grabbed the right opportunity by announcing a new Netflix series that will explore the journey of Sivagami in a prequel to the SS Rajamouli's two-part blockbuster.

The series, which was announced by Netflix on Thursday , has already been given a two-season order.

'Baahubali: Before the Beginning' will be a prequel to 'Baahubali: the Beginning' and 'Baahubali: the Conclusion', and is based on Anand Neelakantan's book, 'The Rise of Sivagami'.

Season one of the series will have nine episodes and captures Sivagami's journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequalled queen.

Netflix has teamed up with the team behind 'Baahubali', including Rajamouli.

Prasad Devineni, Producer, Arka Media Works, said that they have been working for over a year to develop the prequel as a Netflix original series.

"We are happy to be partnering with Netflix to produce this amazing story. This partnership gives us the reach and the creative freedom to bring to life the full potential of the series in all its grandeur and exceed the high expectations set by both our films," he added.

Netflix has also partnered with SRK's Red Chillies to produce a spy thriller with Emraan Hashmi.
