Neeraj Chopra was leading the match with a great effort of 87.03 on his very first attempt, 87.58 on his second, and 76.79 on his third attempt while playing against Germany in the Tokyo Olympics. Men's javelin throw finals were played against Germany. Johannes Vetter of Germany started with 82.52m to be at the third after the first attempt while Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra was still leading the scoreboard against Germany.
