MbPT (Mumbai Port Trust) has been announcing the dates of starting the cruise service between Mumbai and Goa. To promote tourism the cruise service was about to start. But it is getting delayed due to some reasons. Previously the service was about to start in 2017 then it delayed to March this year. In March too the service didn't start because the ship had to go through some major repairs.
Talking about the cruise it will portray the Indian culture. With a capacity of carrying 400 people, the cruise is getting refurbished as per Indian culture. It was imported from Japan so the changes are taking time. The cruise service will take 16 hours traveling from Mumbai to Goa. It will also give an experience of a five-star hotel with the natural beauty of Goa and its villages.
The ship will have some stoppages including Dighi in Raigad, Dhabol, and Jaigad in Ratnagiri, Vijay Durg, Malvan, and Panaji. For one-way trip the passengers need to pay Rs. 5000 and additional charges will be there for food and other entertainment facilities. The cruise will have a Bollywood touch with dance floors and swimming pool.
There is a barrier in running this service permanently. The ship can be sailed only when the weather is good that is between October and May. The ferry service will get more delayed as it needs to be repaired. After repairing the trials will be done and it will be checked whether the ship is working properly in the sea or not. This domestic cruise will operate from Mumbai to Mormugao, Goa. MbPT is also going to make the area around the domestic terminal of the cruise attractive for the tourists. It has planned to create a marina, sea facing restaurant near the terminal. Tourist is eagerly waiting for this service to start soon.
