Mukesh Ambani Refuses Salary Hike For 10th Consecutive Year

Mukesh Ambani, the one and only Indian who made it to the list of world's billionaires needs no introduction. The owner of very famous Reliance Industries Ltd has a turn over in billions but is Mukesh heartless? As his net worth stands at a whopping $40.1 billion in 2017 and if we calculate Ambani's current yearly salary then it stands at

INR 15 crore( includes INR 4.49 crore in salary, INR 27 lakh in perquisites, INR 71 lakh in retiral benefits, INR 9.53 crore in commissions.)

"Compensation of Mukesh D Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, has been set at Rs 15 crore, reflecting his desire to continue to set a personal example for moderation in managerial compensation levels," RIL said in its latest annual report.

Back in 2009, at the time he has INR 15 crore as his salary and it's been 10 years that he has not taken a single salary hike since. Yes! though he not even needed but still he is the one who refused his salary hike.

Well, this is something that makes no sense to common people, whether Ambani takes the money or it stays with Reliance it's still his. But, the well-known company of India Reliance Industries Limited is an openly traded company with a duty to its investors before anyone else.

And, being a chairman of the company, he will be able to modify the policy whenever he wants to get a hike. While our main question is that- does he really need a salary hike?
