If your children are irritating you by asking to give them cash for different things then you should teach them the value of money. Parenting is not an easy job but a parent can't let her child be spoil. Children's rising demands for pocket money is also a problem for parents. So, parents should come up with innovative ways of parenting and teach their children value of money. The same has been done by a mother named Shaketha McGregor who came up with an interesting idea to teach her kids value of money and earn pocket money.
McGregor organized an in-home job interview for three positions in the house which are kitchen manager position, lead housekeeper and laundry supervisor. Then, she held an interview to get the job as her kids were asking her for new cell phone, trips, and allowances. On Facebook, McGregor shared the details about her innovative move. She wrote, “So, my children continue to ask for a new cell phone, an allowance, and to go places. Yesterday I told them that I’ve heard their requests and that I’ll have a surprise for them today when they get home from school.”
“SURPRISE!!! It’s a whole iring even! If you want it, work for it, earn it! And yes, I also have an in-home credit union lol. #ThisMomMeansBusiness,” she added.
She arranged the interview in a quite professional way. She posted the time and place of interview. She also distributed application forms to her kids and asked the kids to fill all the details right from their name and work experience. She also asked to fill their expected salary and joining date in the forms.
Check out the forms:
“Good credit? Bad credit? Need to build credit? Let Mom start you off with a line of credit to help build your allowance as well as character!” she wrote.
“Making on-time contributions around the house can pay off big time! Don’t wait! Ask mom how today!” she added.
