R Madhavan Gets Conferred With Degree Of Doctor Of Letters For Contribution To Arts and Cinema; Actor Says He’s Truly Humbled

One of the actors from down South who has cemented his place in the Bollywood industry is R Madhavan. He has many successful Bollywood ventures in his kitty and indeed never fails to impress his fans with his brilliant acting skills and charm. The actor who started his journey in the entertainment industry by starring in Hindi daily soaps later garnered a lot of fame with his performance on the big screen in the South Film industry.

R Madhavan’s successful Tamil cinema includes Alaipayuthey, in which he played a pivotal role. Speaking of the actor’s successful Bollywood movies, Maddy has starred in movies like Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots among others.

Recently, R Madhavan received the degree of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt.) from DY Patil Educational Society. It is for his contribution to the field of arts and cinema. The star was conferred with honour at the education society’s 9th convocation ceremony.

After receiving the honour, elated R Madhavan expressed his gratitude and added that it will motivate him to take up more challenging projects in the future.

Speaking of the same, the 50-year-old said, "I am truly humbled by this honour. This will only motivate me to keep pushing the envelope and challenging myself with newer projects.”

He also shared the special moment with his IG fam with the caption, “So very humbled and grateful on being conferred the degree of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt.) by DY Patil Education Society, Kolhapur.”

Furthermore, the actor added, “This is an honour and responsibility now (sic).”

On the work front, R Madhavan recently starred in a movie titled Maara. It is a remake of Dulquer Salman’s Malayalam movie Charlie. His fans were absolutely thrilled by the actor’s on-screen presence.

Up next, actor Maddy will be making his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

In the movie, the versatile actor will be essaying the role of a former scientist and aerospace engineer Nambi Narayan. The release date of the movie hasn’t been announced yet.
