Legends are born twice: Abhishek writes about Big B’s Coolie accident after 37 years

If you are a die hard fan of Amitabh Bachchan, then you will really know the importance of August 2.

The day is also considered as the second birthday for Amitabh Bachchan and on this auspicious eve, Amitabh's son Abhishek has shared an amazing throwback picture of him along with his father and sister sitting at Breach Candy hospital in Circa, 37 years ago.


It was July 26, 1982, that Big B met with an accident while shooting for his movie Coolie. He suffered a fatal-injury while taking the action scenes in Bangalore and soon after he got injured, he was rushed to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.

Several surgeries were done on Big B and at one point, he was even declared clinically dead.

But the doctor' did not gave up and they injected adrenaline into Big B's heart to revive the actor.

To everyone's surprise, the actor recovered fully on August 2. In the photo shared by Abhishek, he wrote that true legends are born twice.

After recovering from his injury, Amitabh went on to give more hits for his fans and is still a strong figure in the Bollywood film industry.


He said that his family very much celebrates August 2 as the second birthday of his father, as he was revived miraculously by the doctors on this particular day.

In his post, he also wished Big B a great happy birthday.

Amitabh Bachchan himself did not go behind on celebrating this day and on his Twitter handle, he tweeted, "Many are they that remember this day with love and respect and with prayer. I can only say I am blessed to have such gracious thoughts with me. It is this love that carries me on each day... It is a debt that I shall never be able to repay."
