Lata Mangeshkar’s fans disappointed after her comment for Ranu Mondal: Imitation is not a reliable companion for success

The fans of veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar has been disappointed after her recent comments turned viral on the internet. Her comment was based on the performance of the latest internet sensation Ranu Mondal.

Lata Mangeshkar said that imitation was not a reliable factor for the success, while speaking with a media company.

The comments made by Lata Mangeshkar really irked the social media users and they termed it as rude and unnecessary.


“But I also feel imitation is not a reliable and durable companion for success,” Lata said.

The social media users said that Lata was so ungracious insttead she should have appreciated Ranu, who was singing on the railway station at West Bengal. A lot of users appreciated the voice of Ranu Mondal and have given ample support for the singer.

There were also a good number of Twitter users who urged to read the full comments before coming to any conclusions.

Lataji indeed said that if somebody gets benefited by her name and work, then she considers herself lucky. She said that singing the songs of the renowned singers such as Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Mukesh and Asha Bhosle will not help you in moving up the ladder.


Lata ji stated that one has to be unique in their singing, if they are thinking to become famous in the industry. She stated that apart from singing the songs of the popular singers, Ranu should also come up with her own and unique style of singing.

Ranu Mondal became famous overnight after a video of her singing the song of Lata Mangeshkar was shared on social media.


She was seen singing the song "Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai" on a railway platform and the video went viral. Eventually she also got an opportunity to sing a song for Himesh Reshammiya's movie. This singer has also got several other offers to sing in various films in Bollywood.
