Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar Reunites for ‘Ghost Stories’ on Netflix

The popular filmmakers Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, and Anurag Kashyap have collaborated for the next film on Netflix. They have come up with Ghost Stories set to release in the month of August. It truly a challenging and exciting task for Karan Johar to direct a horror-based film. He said, 'I have always been mortified to watch the horror genre and have always stayed very far away from any ghost story! So to direct one is not only hugely challenging but also exceptionally exciting.'

Karan further added, 'Personally it's uncharted terrain and I couldn't have chosen a better platform and a more eclectic collective to exhibit my fear of ghosts and ghost stories! This one's going to be a nightmare for this dream team.' On 1st August, Karan Johar posted the official news regarding the upcoming film Ghost Stories. He wrote, 'The squad's back together and ready to make you scream for your life! #GhostStories coming soon, only on Netflix.

It's the third film under the collaboration of Netflix and RSVP. Ronnie Screwvala and RSVP are jointly bankrolling this film alongside Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment. As per the latest reports, Ghost Stories will stream to a total of 151 million members all over 190 countries. Zoya Akhtar said, 'As a writer/director, I thrive on bending genres and inverting tropes and I am so looking forward to attempting that with a ghost story.'

The popular filmmaker Dibakar said that he considers horror as a genre rendering massive space for the directors to explore and experiment. He said, 'Ghost Stories is my attempt to do that, and it's great to have a partner in Netflix with whom I have the freedom to tell the story as envisioned. Ultimately we are entertainers, and there's nothing like a spine-chilling story, scaring the devil out of us while we're safely tucked in our sofa munching fries.'

Anurag Kashyap joined Netflix for several occasions. He said, ' am really looking forward to challenging myself to make something that I have never attempted before. Also, I have never prepared so much for anything before.' Drop your opinion regarding the upcoming Ghost Stories on Netflix.
