Bollywood actor John Abraham recently gave us a super hit film titled Satyamev Jayate. On its first day, the firm earned about Rs 20 crore at the box office, making it the highest grosser of John's acting career. On day 5, the film is continuing to do wonders at the box office. It has already earned Rs 57 crores. However, despite huge success, John Abraham has refused to celebrate the success of his film.
The reason is the present condition of Kerala. A leading daily reported, ‘’John Abraham’s latest release Satyameva Jayate is having a great run at the box office. The film is been appreciated by the critics and the audiences. It also records the highest opening for John. The film is also the highest opener for an ‘A’ rated action film. This surely calls for a celebration. But, the actor has decided against celebrating owing to the unforeseen floods in Kerala.”
The actor himself said, “I am overwhelmed by all the adulation from the paisa paying public as well as the industry at large. Everyone is asking me when are we celebrating but, for me it’s business as usual as I’m shooting in Gulmarg for my next film. In any case, I am devastated by the unprecedented situation in Kerala. I have family there and although they are safe so many others are still suffering.”
For those who are not aware, John's father hails from Kerala.
John is a kind hearted man who is often involved in philanthropist activities. He takes interest in PETA. In the past, he had written a letter to the Minister for Environment and Forests, Jayanthi Natarajan, asking that she make all circuses in India animal-free.
He is also the celebrity supporter of UNHCR India, and promotes the cause of refugees in India.
Talking about his film, Satyamev Jayate was released on 15 August and faced a clash with Akshay Kumar's Gold. The film also stars Manoj Vajpayee and Aisha Sharma and is directed by Milap Zaveri.
