Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma post a heatfelt message for their Mumbai Indian’s team mate Lasith Malinga

Sri Lankan legendary cricketer Lasith Malinga has taken retirement from ODI cricket on Friday. The cricketer brought an end to his illustrious ODI career and his Mumbai Indians’ team mate Jasprit Bumrah took to Twitter to extend his wishes to the pacer and wished him luck for his future. Also, vice-captain of India, Rohit Sharma wished Lasith Malinga good luck. They came forward to hail the champion player on social media.

"If I had to pick one match winner among many others for @mipaltan in the last decade, this man will be on the top for sure. As a captain he give me breather during tense situation and he never failed to deliver, such was his presence within the team. Best wishes LM for the future," Rohit Sharma wrote on his Twitter account to wish the Srilankan Pacer.

Jasprit Bumrah also tweeted a special message on Twitter: "Classic Mali spell Thank you for everything you've done for cricket. Always admired you and will always continue to do so."

Malinga debuted in the world of Cricket in 2004 against the United Arab Emirates. He has played 225 ODIs and his unusual slingy action has made him a formidable bowler in limited-overs cricket.

On taking retirement, Malinga said, "I tried my best all through my career. I hope all the young bowlers do this as well. Because just surviving in cricket, I don't think anyone can go far. You have to be a match-winner."

"All the pressure games, must win games, all have to the same things - the basic. That means what's your wicket taking length. You have to bowl every ball to your wicket taking length. That means every ball must hit the stump. Then you have three opportunities but when you are bowling back of a length you have just one opportunity. That's the thing I thought before the match," he said.

"When I am practicing my yorker deliveries I plan my session in just a manner that the only thing that I will bowl is the yorker, and the same goes with my slower and other deliveries as well," he added.
