IPL 2021 Suspended indefinitely: BCCI Vice-President

Amid the rising covid-19 cases among the team players, Rajeev Shukla, the Vice President BCCI, announced that Indian Premier League remains suspended for the time being. 

The decision was taken after an SRH player tested positive ahead SRH vs MI match scheduled today in Delhi. 

Even after following strict protocols and bio-bubble, many players and team members have  tested positive among the IPL teams. Along with this, two members of Chennai Super Kings team, including a coach, tested positive for Covid-19. The team informed BCCI that according to the Covid-19 protocols, they could start playing only after all the players who came in contact with the two non-playing staff cleared three tests within six days.

India reported 3,57,229 new cases, crossing the 2 crore mark. Amid the critical situation in India, many players voluntarily withdrew from the game this season for their safety.
